How will the upcoming European Light Aircraft (ELA) Category affect the Remos GX?

In 2009/2010, EASA will launch a new category that encompasses all aircraft lighter than 1,000kg. This category will be ELA1 (European Light Aircraft).

This will harmonise the different categories (Microlight, Ultralight etc.) that exist across Europe into one category and make it easier to purchase, fly and maintain such aircraft in Europe.

It will be very similar in content and process to the LSA (Light Sports Aircraft) category that’s used in the US.
